Okinawa Hotel is honored to celebrate its 85th anniversary on February 11, 2026.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the local community who have supported us throughout the years, as well as to each and every guest who has visited us from across Japan and around the world. Reaching this important milestone would not have been possible without your continued support and patronage.

Eighty-five years ago, in 1941, Okinawa Hotel was founded with the hopes and aspirations of the people of Okinawa, serving as a bridge connecting the prefecture with the rest of Japan and the wider world.

At that time, February 11 was observed not as the present-day National Foundation Day, but as Kigensetsu, a pre-war national holiday commemorating the founding of Japan. It was in such an era—filled with hopes for the future of the region and the exchange of people and cultures—that Okinawa Hotel first opened its doors.

However, amid the turmoil of war, the hotel suffered total destruction in 1946.

Even so, supported by the local community and driven by the strong belief that this place should once again become a gathering space where people could connect and share their hearts, Okinawa Hotel proudly reopened in 1951.

Since then, we have walked alongside Okinawa’s post-war recovery and development. Though times have changed and our appearance has evolved, our core mission has remained the same: to be a hotel that welcomes people, connects people, and grows together with the local community.

Today, February 11 is celebrated as National Foundation Day in Japan—a day to reflect on the origins of the nation.

For us, marking our 85th anniversary on this day is not only an opportunity to look back on our history, but also a moment to renew our sense of responsibility and hope for the future.

With deep respect for Okinawa’s history and culture, we will continue striving to be:
